YB-401 Multifunctional Dispersing and Anti-Settling Agent

1. Overview

YB-401 multifunctional dispersing and anti-settling agent is based on a water-soluble titanate coupling agent, supplemented with various functional additives. It is mainly used in waterborne coatings and waterborne inks, offering a wide range of excellent functions, broad application scope and outstanding performance.

2. Applications

1. Suitable for the dispersion and anti-settling treatment of all kinds of waterborne coatings and waterborne inks, with excellent performance.

2. Provides good dispersing performance for carbon black, phthalocyanine pigments and various organic and inorganic pigments and inorganic fillers; increases the colour brightness of pigments and prevents floating, flooding and powdering.

3. Effectively improves the anti-settling performance and storage stability of waterborne coatings and inks.

4. Has a good grinding aid effect and prevents particles from regrinding/re-agglomerating.

5. Improves the adhesion of the film to various substrates, while also providing flame-retardant and corrosion-resistant functions; suitable for waterborne rust-preventive and flame-retardant paints.

6. Improves the durability, water resistance and anti-yellowing performance of the film, increases its impact strength, softness and abrasion resistance.

7. In waterborne rust-preventive paints, improves rust resistance, salt resistance, salt-spray resistance, anti-settling performance and the adhesion to various substrates.

8. Because of its multiple anchoring groups, it is suitable for all kinds of paint resins.

3. Directions for Use

1. The usual dosage is 0.5–1% of the total weight; the recommended dosage is about 0.5%. For pigments that are difficult to disperse, the amount may be increased as appropriate.

2. For interior/exterior wall coatings, anticorrosion paints and flame-retardant paints, refer to the dosages above. Where the pigment/filler loading is high, 1–3% based on the amount of pigment and filler may be used.

3. The product has a certain thixotropy and will thicken the coating slightly. If a lower viscosity is desired during the process, adjust by reducing or increasing the dosage, or add a small amount (about 1%) of an acrylate dispersant in combination.

4. Add before dispersion, carry out high-speed dispersion, and then follow the original production process; no special requirements.

5. The product is highly active. Surfactants bearing hydroxyl or carboxyl groups are best added in the later stage of sand milling so as not to impair its function.
