n-Propyl titanate is a titanium alkoxide and a very active primary titanate that hydrolyzes immediately upon contact with atmospheric moisture. It is mainly used as a catalyst for esterification or transesterification reactions, and can also be used as a catalyst for polyolefins. It also helps the adhesion and crosslinking of resins with hydroxyl or carboxyl functional groups, and is suitable for heat-resistant and anti-corrosion coating applications.
Reaction catalyst: n-Propyl titanate is an effective catalyst for esterification, transesterification, condensation, and addition reactions, or as a Ziegler-Natta polymerization catalyst. Unique products include (meth)acrylates, polyesters, plasticizers, various esters, and polyurethanes. Benefits of using n-propyl titanate include the elimination of by-products, increased yield, ease of operation, and low catalyst concentration and toxicity.
Coatings: n-Propyl titanate can be used to treat glass, metal, fillers, and pigments to increase surface hardness, promote adhesion, improve scratch resistance, coloring effect, reflection of heat and light, iridescence, and corrosion resistance.
Paint additive: n-Propyl titanate can be used as an additive in paints, crosslinking functional polymers or binders, promoting adhesion, or used as the binder itself.
Other application fields: plastics industry; pharmaceutical industry and other fields.
