TIPT (isopropyl titanate) is a tetravalent titanium oxide and a very active primary titanate. It hydrolyzes immediately upon contact with atmospheric moisture. TIPT is mainly used as a catalyst for alcoholysis or acetalization reactions, and can also be used for the refining of polyolefins. TIPT can also help crosslink resins containing hydroxyl or carbonyl functional groups. It is suitable for heat-sensitive and light-sensitive coating applications, and is very helpful for environments sensitive to the atmosphere and moisture. Note that TIPT can only be added to solvent-based products.
